Radha Vitamin C serum

I know I should have posted this much much sooner, like before my other reviews, last year kind of soon, but I got side tracked by wonderful sheet masks lying on my bathroom counter top. They called my name each time I wanted to make a review about this serum.

anyway...

Vitamin C have been known to help our regenerate collagen in our skin. Over time, using vitamin c serums has helped reduce signs of aging, hyperpigmentation, or post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (like acne scarring), and help boost your skin's complexion (aka radiance/that glow flow). I've been using vitamin c serums for a while now, but this is my first "indie" brand that is slowly gaining popularity, especially on amazon

Yup, this is the vitamin c serum I had talked about in the post Oxidized vitamin c serums, to use or not to use?

What is it?
Radha Beauty - Vitamin C serum
It's Radha' Beauty's vitamin C serum that contains, hyaluronic Acid, vitamin E, and it says "amino blends". This is a big bottle for a vitamin c serum, which comes in at 2 oz. (60 ml) Most vitamin c serums I've seen come in 1 oz (30 ml) bottles.

Where to buy?

Radha Beauty - Vitamin C serum available on Amazon

Radha Beauty:
Radha beauty was created a woman, who I believe the brand is named after, who grew up in east India, and wanted to create cosmetics that "embodied luxury and conscience. I believe these are  These are manufactured in their US facility. Their mailing info says Berkeley, CA USA, maybe? You can check out her story on their website. Link is across the photo of the white box. (^___^)

  • Synthetic Fragrances
  • Synthetic Dyes
  • GMOs
  • Triclosan

Main Ingredients:
20% Vitamin C (ascorbic phosphate), Hyaluronic Acid, Amino Complex, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E

There is a full explanation of the main ingredients in their website.

Full Ingredients List:

Organic Herbal Infusion, Aloe, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), MSM, botanical hyaluronic acid, Witch Hazel, d-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Carbomer, Amino Complex, Ferulic Acid, Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Jojoba Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin.

The bottle and serum:

The bottle is a 2 oz bottle, and is dark brown in color, enough so you can see how much product you have left. It does come in with a closed twist top, and it does come with your typical dropper. It reminds me of the dropper my high school used for chemistry class. The dropper is also in the box, wrapped in small bubble wrap. How they fit all that in that box, I'll never know.
This is how vitamin c serums should look.

This consistency of this serum is more like an essence. I've contacted the seller and was told that this is more liquidy due to the formula, which makes it faster, deeper and more easily absorbed into the skin. The color is, of course and should be, clear to opaque white. If the color of the serum looks super light yellow, I still use it for about a week or two. I know I said to throw it away, but I found that most vitamin c serums if kept in the refrigerator eventually turns a light yellow color.

How to Use:

  1. Cleanse
  2.  Tone face
  3. Dry the skin
  4. Apply the serum onto face
    • Use few drops on fingertips
    • I pat onto my face, press this on to my neck and decolletage using my palm
  5. Allow to dry/set for 1-2 minutes
  6. Follow with a moisturizer
Can be used daily, but once a day, or so it says in the bottle. I use this in the morning, and a few times at night, in conjunction with other essences, and serums. I make sure to protect my skin with sunscreen, spf 30 and above with PA+++. The more pluses, the better. Wear sunscreen when you use a vitamin c serum, or any actives, in your skincare routine. These actives make your skin more susceptible to sunburns, or photosensitivity.

My thoughts:

This is one of the best vitamin c serums I've seen on the market, though the first time I bought it the price was $12. Since then, it's gone up to $14.99, which is fine. Anyway, this vitamin c is very moisturizing, but it does leave a slightly sticky feeling that eventually goes away. As you can see in the photo above, waaaay above, the color is clear, which how your vitamin c serum should look, unless they manufacturer added an ingredient that will change the color, at which will be indicated in the ingredients, and if it is not, contact them and ask. Nicely, please. Often times, they will reply promptly, and who knows you might another one for free. There's no smell that I can detect, but if there was any, chuck it. If there is a smell and the color isn't clear or opaque, throw it away with a passion. For more info on why, read my blog on oxidized vitamin c serums.

I do get a glow when I use this, and I love how light weight it feels. When I keep this in the fridge before using, it feel sooo nice.

The only thing I don't like is the pH. It's a bit high for a vitamin C serum.

After months of use: My skin is noticibly brighter, but it doesn't brighten like the new product I just tried by Wish Formula (more on that soon). That was so much fun to use.

I've been using this serum for about 5 -6 months now, but I'm about ready to move on to a new brand.

Extra Note:

You can use this vitamin c serum on other parts of your body since there is a lot, 2 fl oz.
